Fire is the best blaster set.
Let that sink in. FIRE is the best blaster primary power set.
“Uncle Dave, why is Fire the best blaster primary set?”
I’m glad you asked, children. Answer me this; what is a blaster’s job?
“Ranged damage!”
Correct. Now every set has a signature secondary effect. Ice has nifty Slow, Electricity has end drain, Assault Rife has a mixed bag of knockback and debuff, Archery has… uh… hmm… suck (but that’s a whole nother post). The point is; Fire’s secondary effect is: more damage! No other set gives you more unresisted damage options. Let’s have a look…

Get em while they’re HOT! (Unfortunately, my 30 month award will be delayed until November 20th due to a brief (10 day) forced hiatus when my Bank refused to honor payment requests from NCSoft.

“Well, I promised to tell you ’bout them sawed off little runts we got running ’round here. The ones what LOOK like your parents, but what ain’t.
The Agency had been goin’ strong for, oh, long about a year, year and a half. Had our own base, and whatnot, computer recordkeepin, stuff like that. Had a pretty good income comming in, from bustin the big gangs, flushin’ out Rikti spy’s, rescuin’ diplomats, and protectin’ federal witnesses.
Now, you got to remember, we only figured all this out AFTER the fact, later, after most of the dammage had been done.

Really, the only thing special about it is the fact that most people don’t say things like this enough. Oh, and then follow thru, as you can see in the Global box.

Apparently, Characters under level 10 are going to be given a new additional Temp Power based on their Origin (Mutant, Science, Tech, Natural, etc.) Exciting?
The powers, listed by Origin are below, followed by the Patch Notes. I dont have a level 50 yet, so I can not find out whether Kheldians have been given any additional powers:
Mutant Origin
Mutagen
Ranged Minor Dmg(Toxic), Foe - DMG
Minor Damage, Recharge Fast
Also appears to cause victims to “Choke” as a minor hold affect
Natural Origin
Throwing Knives
Ranged Minor Dmg(Lethal), +Minor DoT(Lethal)
Minor Damage, Recharge Fast

So now you know how to pull (Pulling 101) and when/where to pull (Pulling 201) and are well on the way to becoming a Pulling Snob. The final test, young padawans, is knowing the behavior of your pulling victims. At lower levels, this is pretty easy. You shoot a mob, he shoots back and chases you around a corner.
Once you get into your teens, minions start appearing with annoying abilities like mezzing or buffs.
You may just think; “well I just won’t pull those.” Well, that’s a good plan, but it doesnt always apply.
